You bring up a good point: Aren't friends supposed to be forgiving? Aren't friends supposed to be loyal? So Phlabby's being a pretty crappy and selfish "friend" if he can't forgive someone for saying something about him once. Maybe the guy had a really bad day, and someone told him Phlabby said something that he didn't. A real friend would have stuck by his side no matter what, and been there to work through the fellows pain. But no, Phlabby ditches him just when the guy needs him most.
