Been a while since I came 'round these parts. The reason is simple. After a few startlingly embarrassing public defeats, I realized something. I just couldn't play. You see, I never really "learned" chess, I was sort of "shown" chess by my ex who, as it turns out, wasn't very good. Needless to say, I was beating her before long, thinking I was something special, when in actuality I was just learning bad habits. So, I took a hiatus, got a few books, and went to school. Eight months later, while I would never say I was "good," I at least now feel I'm beginning to understand the dynamics of the game. So, good morning all, and if anyone feels like schooling me, I'll be right here. :0)
