Question for all you Mozilla boffs out there:
The quick search field that sits in the top right corner of my browser has suddenly stopped working.... why?! I've not installed any new themes, updates or extensions. I've got the latest version of Firefox, and re-installing it doesn't help. I've checked that there are search engines installed for it to use. Why's it not working?! :'(

You may have to right click on clear space on the toolbar at the top and click customise etc etc. You can drag it to where you want it.
Maybe you already tried all that, in which case ignore.

There may a be a better fix but in the end I just made a copy of bookmarks, plugins and extensions, uninstalled 1.5, installed from scratch, copied back in the bookmarks, plugins and extensions, and went from there.

A similar thing happened to me after updating to Firefox 1.5. The quick search bar no longer worked; none of the search extensions worked; and I wasn't able to install new ones. This was despite the necessary files being in the relevant folder directory.
There may a be a better fix but in the end I just made a copy of bookmarks, plugins and extensions, uni ...[text shortened]... talled from scratch, copied back in the bookmarks, plugins and extensions, and went from there.

If that fails then suggest you try the firefox support forum; you'll probably have more luck there.
