That's beautiful.

Can you translate for us monoglots please Bosse?
it's some kind of scat singing with traditional folk song themes. the only real words there are 'kurikan kukka'. Kurikka is a town, and kukka means a flower. so it's 'the flower of Kurikka'.

there's also 'daiga daiga duu' which is a name of a song from the 40's, but doesn't mean anything. it's just a simulacrum of the original song 'diga diga do' which probably meant nothing either.

and now I can't get it out of my head!

jusuh lives in eastern finland, keltamaksa a bit closer I guess. I'm moving before september.

the 'empty town in june' would be midsummer holiday. the biggest drunken fest of the year. bacchanalia. helsinki is empty then, meaning not a single soul on the streets. empty like in radioactive wasteland -empty. you can drive through the capital and see no one. maybe a couple of japanese tourists wondering where the hell is everybody.

Anyone want to show me round, play some OTB?

How about a Helsinki meet?
Have a snowball fight with moose.

You must.-

(1) Take some sun, sitting still like a gecko, in the stairs of the big church next to the harbor, right in front of the czar Alexander statue.

(2) Eat a croissant and a cup of jo at Engel café, right in front of there.

(3) From there go see (don't buy) the Russian 'street merchants' in Vuorikatu.

(4) Take a 'Super SiljaCat' boat and be ...[text shortened]... t, then go to Alcatraz in Helsinki 😕

Edit. How many RHP'ers are close to Helsinki?
Thanks, Seitse.
I know Tallinn quite well, I spent a couple of years bumping back & forth between Tallinn, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest and Moscow before going to the Far East; it must be one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone going to that part of the world. I know it's only a short catamaran ride to Helsinki, but I never actually got that far because I was enjoying myself too much in Estonia (which is probably the cheapest place for everything in Europe) when I wasn't actually working.
This time I'll only be stopping over for a night in Helsinki (arrive Monday 2pm, depart Tuesday 9am) on my way to Poland.
There are currently 366 players on RHP flying the Finnish flag, so a meet up is a possibility.
I will also try to do a Polish meet, in either Krakow, Warszawa or Torun, but that's for a different thread...

Yup, that's right, Helsinki was closed for the whole weekend or something. The only other people I saw were at the airport and the bus driver (who was probably pissed about having to work that day); not even any Japanese tourists...
