I am very excited about Wimbledon this year.

I think Henmania is over with, guy's game just isnt up to par anymore. Has to get killed 2nd round by Fed.

However, there are a lot of potential excellent matches! Agassi/Nadal being the most notable for me (being an American). However, if Nadal and Blake both make it through, that should be a good match as well (Blake 2-0 v Nadal!!).

Should be a good test to see where Rafa's all around game is at. Dominated on clay, but now we're on to Fed's best surface. Unfortunate that Nadal cant make more finals off Clay so he and Fed can have a more rounded rivalry.

As an American I can honestly say I hope someone anonymous and ignominious defeats Roddick: we dont need another lame duck late round match with him crying against Federer (at least it would only be the Semis this year, couldnt handle that being the 3rd straight final, especially after last year's azz kicking.)

I am sick of Roddick, sick of his whiney crap, sick of his excuses and his on court crying and whining. James Blake is taking over as the top American and he is a classy, humble player who deserves credit!

American media still stuck on Roddick, so of course no one cares about Tennis when your top star is such a loser, but Blake is finishing thie year in the top 5 and knocking Roddick off the map.

looking forward to the fortnight! I wish I didnt have to deal with the 7 hour delay, always at the whim of ESPN programming that way since most of it is previously recorded (already heard them mention Roddick 10 times today and he hasnt even played yet!! arrrgh! ugh).

btw: I'll talk Tennis any time with anyone interested in this brilliant Sport.

Murray is the big British hope this yeaar I think. Henmania is over, long live Murraymania!

He humiliated Massu earlier.

Massu only seems to be able to get it up for the Olympics, Davis Cup and the occasional clay court tourney.

Kid's got a tough draw though: 3rd round likely to play Roddick (hope he wins actually! but Roddick is tough on grass), 4th round likely to draw either Baghdatis or Grosjean and then in the quarters it'll likely be the winner of Safin/Hewitt.

Hope he makes a good run though, Wimbledon is more exiciting with the Brit fans more into it as they are when one of your guys is making noise.

That's true - the whole country gets into it. It was just a shame that Henman had to deal with two of the greatest grass players, Sampras and now Federer, otherwise maybe he could have won one year, which is definitely what British tennis needs.

OOOoooo unlucky Federer. Henman kicked your ass and will be going on to finally claim the wimbledon title that he was always going to win. I expect he'll now go on a straight winning run of 5 years and reclaim the number 1 spot.

Henman has let us down too many times I have no hope for him at all. Murray has all my hope now though I know he won't do it this year, maybe next year though.

Niether Henman or Murray will ever win Wimbledon

The problem with British tennis is that most clubs are expensive to join, as such most of the population will never play tennis other than maybe at school on a tarmac court.

As such kids will play football, rugby or cricket, games where everyone are welcome.

Damn, could have got 1/33 on Federer - only needed £33,000 and I could have won a sweet £1000.

I have this feeling Federer won't win. I know Nadal stinks on grass but I feel the momentum from winning the french helping him over come that here.

Federer is in top form. He blitzed both Henman and Gasquet, and Gasquet had won Nottingham the week before!

The real problem with thinking Federer will lose is who will beat him? Federer almost made his breakthrough on Clay this year, that is the real point. Nadal is still a year away from truly figuring out grass.

I dont see Nadal making the Final, whereas Federer will.

The only person who has beaten Federer this year is Nadal, 3 of 4 on Clay, whereas the rest of the field feels (rightly so) that it has a good chance to defeat Nadal off of Clay.

I dont see Fed losing to anyone but Nadal right now and I guarantee you Federer is just itching to get Rafa on HIS surface.

Fed owns grass. I say he wins his 4th straight.

Besides, if Rafa even makes the Quarters or Semis it is a significant breakthrough for him on Grass, since he has had an atrocious record on grass to this point in his career.

At first I thought this was a soccer thread. I guess there really ARE other things happening in the world at the moment!

Hewitt appears to be in his best form for some time. Better yet, he's in Nadal's half of the draw rather than Federer's.
