I went and saw Hero this afternoon. I was expecting an action movie and was very disappointed. The trailers advertise this movie as a action-packed thriller with Jet-Li. If you want an action/adventure movie, save your money.
It's a good movie from certain aspects. Great cinematogaphy, interesting fight scenes, and decent story. If you want to see a movie for it's artistry and direction, I would recommend it, but take a pillow. If you're looking for entertainemt, stay away. It is mostly a slow drama with a few fight scenes thrown in to wake people up before they start snoring. Then have way through, it turns into a love story.
The most entertaining part was the old man in front of me scrambling to find his glasses (the movie is subtitled).
Now everyone has a new place to focus all their negative energy instead of each other and the mod's.

saw this movie several months ago dubbed in english and it is definately not an action movie. I will say that in the US they are trying to trailer it as a jet li action movie but the action isnt great and there is little of it. The movie will not be what you expect if you are expecting a regular Jet Li movie, its more philosophy than anything, actually i'd say its completely that, with a few boring fight scenes to satisfy those people who dont have the minds to comprehend the rest of the movie. It is a great movie though, but I dont think i would pay to see it, wait till it comes out on dvd so you can watch it dubbed instead of having to read subtitles.
