I just want people to know about a developing situation up in Alaska. Right now a Malaysian freighter has gone aground - a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter trying to rescue them has crashed with 10 aboard - some of them have reportedly been rescued, at last report some were still in the water.
This is a particularly messy one, but the Coast Guard up there does this sort of thing all the time. Having lived up there for 20 years I can tell you no one is braver than these guys.

bravery? or doing there job! miners work in cramped dagerous places all day, my own work offten is dangerous and people die within my industry, sailors risk sinking everyday (i include fishermen) but does in your oppinion put someone who gets paid to do something as against someone who does risk there life for free have the same hero status?

The word "hero" can be used as a title to show respect and admiration.
