i know this girl that lives all the way in ireland. i live in america. she says that her stepdad beats her and has tried to kill her. she has lung cancer cause he smokes around her. she is even thinking about killing herself. i told her to tell somebody. she told her mom and she wanted a divorce with the girls step dad, but he didnt sign the divorce papers. so he still lives with her. tell what i can do to make her step dad leave and save her from either killing herself or being killed please. id apreciate that, i'd feel responsible.

If she's really a child she should report the beatings at the school she fequents. The school can then set about helping her, contacting the proper protection schemes and they will involve social work.
If she's nearly adult she can do it via school, she can report beatings (which is domestic violence) to the police or she can contact a woman's refuge group.

This is a British site, but she'll be able to get hold of proper contact addresses for Ireland from them.
The important thing is that she does act on it. The longer she stays in an aggressive enviroment, the more damage she's going to take (mentally as well as physically).
