aye laddie... and with a name like Duncan, it's us who be thinkin' ye be scottish? will check out your profile later. Might we enquire the meanin' o' the "8th"? Mike
Sorry, I'm not scottish, but I love Scotland, beautiful country. Duncan is a character from my favorite book series, and there were several generations of him, so I chose the eighth one.
And Uncle Adam, I'll take u up on that offer.

Originally posted by bbarrYou are totally right. I didn't like the movie as much though. Did you? Frank Herbert hosted a tv series for a while in 1955-56 called "science fiction theatre"... i used to walk three miles to a friends house every wednesday after school to watch it. we didn't have a tv at the time. And... he was also one of the four 'Poker Players' with Heinlein, Ellison and Ron Hubbard on the night the three ganged up on Hubbard and bet him he couldn't form a religion that would have a million members within a decade. Hubbard won the bet, founding "the church of Scientology"... snicker, snicker... Heinlein never would pay the bet, Ellison did and Herbert just laughed at them all. He (Herbert) incorporated much religious undertone into Dune. Great science fiction.
Dune. He's referring to Duncan Idaho, the long-suffering servant to the Atreides. What a great series!
