Wow, it seems that it has been worked out!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6225619/HIV-vaccine-hailed-as-historic-milestone-in-fight-against-Aids.html

Finally, I just can't wait for it to be sold in pharmacies. There are tons of crack smoking prostitutes infected with bad aids to whom I would like to give my money! 😵

31% decrease doesn't seem like a proper vaccine (in the usual sense), but still this is great news.

Would n't you like to have 31% less bad aids?

By the way, according to my calculations, if the number of infected in the second group had been 72, instead of 74, then a T-test on the hypothesis that the means are equal would not have been rejected at a 5% significance level.

😕

(read: two less infected on the control group would mean the difference would not be statistically significant)

Yo Palynka, I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish, but bad aids has one of the most horrific killing stats of all time!

From the article:

"The results were that new infections occurred in 51 of the 8,197 given vaccine and in 74 of the 8,198 who received dummy shots."

They managed to find over 16,000 people in Thailand who were willing to get AIDS for science? I just don't understand what is up with Thai people.

There are always crazy or ignorant or desperate folks who volunteer for weird experiments.

I can't take the racist credit. 🙁 Seriously, I would never volunteer for science studies.

HEY!

You know, I just saw that.

I have no idea why, but my first response was automatically removed. I can't figure out the reason.
