Yesterday I bought a Phillips Home Theatre CD/DVD bla bla player surround sound thingy with loads of speakers and woofers and the works. It has a USB port and I put music from my laptop on a mem stick and plugged it in and all works ok.
Question is: I bought a USB to USB direct wire and plugged my laptop directly into the player hoping I could directly play music or films from my laptop to the player - but my laptop doesn't see the aux unit. Is there anyway to play, directly using USB connection, music and films from laptop to player without having to use a mem stick?

Though with USB I think it's possible, I believe you need a "special type" of USB cable.
