Is one of the best Latin American novels.

It was written by the Argentinian (IMO) literary genius José Cortázar (1914-1984), and I call it one of my favorites.

I could have posted this in culture forum, but I really want to encourage everybody to search the translation into your language and read it. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoy!

I put it on my "to read" list when you mentioned it in the Culture forum a long time ago, but haven't even bought it yet... I still have several unread books on the bookshelf.

In which language would you prefer to read it?

Good!

Here it is in English:

And here it is in German (I think):

Those links just take me to some bookshop on the Internet.

Luckily 'Hopscotch' is in my public library.

I didn't realise Cortazar was born and died so long ago. That explains the James Dean image in the photographs.

I was listening to tangos of poems he'd written the other day. One day I must visit Buenos Aires ... or perhaps Buenos Aires will come to visit me.

Both Buenos Aires and Paris will come to visit you when you read 'Rayuela'.

I hope you rejoice in it.

German, English or Norwegian (unfortunately I can't read it in the original language). I don't really have a preference among those, although some translations may be better than others.
