How about helping...

How about helping a 21st Century Lingo challenged guy come of age. Help me with urban slang, textese abbreviations and chatspeak used

on RHP. Huck used a few recently that left me totally in the dark. Tried to Google them. Got nowhere. I'm motivated and teachable. Thanks.

As far as I know, "idiot" still means the same thing it always did.

Thanks for the link. Must tell you though that lengthy informational sites overwhelm me. John Locke wrote, "The confusion of knowledge

is worse than ignorance." Must also tell you that my retentive memory still recalls time/place context and person involved with the initial

learning of many words (ever since childhood) which are still part of my routine vocabulary. Would you please personalize a few favorites?

Slow is sometimes better for the sake of inculcation. Neat if you and a few other thoughtful members would invest in my new vocabulary.

Yes, derives from 'idios' in the Greek. Thanks for being your usual cheerful and helpful self. Comforting that some things remain the same.

See it used frequently... best guess is that it's used as a substitute for 'off'. If not you, then Frank, Ice and others use it now and then.

Edit: Maybe just a gutteral sound used to express displeasure. Really don't know. Anyway, what about the meaning of 'MWAHH'?

I think Frank Burns started it with his phrase "Welcome to Erff", which I think is meant to imply that he's on a different planet than the person this is addressed to. But you'd better ask him.

Thanks. Any other 'new words' you're particularly fond of or dislike?
