In the past I was never home in the morning. So I discover that the seat I think of as 'my seat' gets the sun shining straight in my eyes in the morning. Then I realise that I have a seat I think of as 'my seat'. This is a frightening life stage. 😆

@petewxyz saidI think many of us have a seat in the house that we consider our own. I hadn't even thought about it until you mentioned it.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidMost people keep those in a glass by their bed allegedly. 😁

@very-rusty saidI can just picture a family sitting down together at the kitchen table without having their firm places. My father, for one, would be very upset, mother wouldn't mind so much. 🙂

@torunn saidWe have one particular cat who is always found in 'my seat'. So if this suggests it is a territorial thing what does that say about humans? Particularly if it is males who are more bothered about it, although I am not sure about that as I have seen my wife ask one of our daughters to shift from the seat that she considers to be hers.

@petewxyz saidThat might suggest that the difference is individual.

@petewxyz
I don't think that it is a gender/sex Thing. I changed my place on the table several times over the years while my wife still occupies the seat she has chosen when we moved into the house...
@petewxyz saidMy wife, daughters and I all have our own seats at the breakfast table,

dinner table and tv room. It's not that any seat is better than any
other is just ones "territory" where it's comfortable. It was the same when
I was young. ... I thought this was normal!? (Oh and the car too)
