How? With skepticism.

How do you get your news?

I scan the headlines on Bloomberg.com Though it's mostly a business site, their reporting of general news from around the world seems pretty unbiased. 5 min. in the morning and I'm good for the day on news, (and the absence of TV ad's alone is worth it!)

@divegeester

In fact I read ( say skim the headlines)

* Badische Neueste Nachrichten (local news)

* Handelsblatt (German news)

* BBC, Aljazera and Jerusalem Post for a bit of a world view.

Especially Aljazeera is covering a lot the others don't.

Sky News Australia is now 100% owned by Rupert Murdoch, who bought out Sky's share years ago but kept the right to use the name.

Al Jazeera are very good, sometimes when I'm traveling the only English channels are news channels (if there's a TV) and would choose Al Jazeera over the others.

Out of habit I look at the BBC website but it's so bad, the amount of typos and just plan wrong information is crazy. I complained once and they said it wasn't possible to be accurate all of the time... Nuts.

Been paying attention to the poisoning in Laos, people are seriously dumb sometimes.

Either by phone, text or in person…if concerning family otherwise, TV or newspapers.

Dont really watch news on TV again. I read up on certain key world hotspots on BBC or CNN, or Al Jazeera. I have gotton into Radio Garden. This is a Google app that brings up thousands of radio stations all over the world. So I will zero in on the MidEast or Ukraine and listen to news from those radios. If something happens that needs a video to explain chances are that might be available on BBC etc. This frees up my eyes to do something else like play chess while I just listen to news, instead of watching some man or woman recite it. I listen more to international news. Local news is unfortuantely a bunch of petty nonsense, crime or corrupt politicians rambling on.

Yes, and chances are that the local radio stations are not connected to these big media houses and have no axe to grind. They should therefore be a bit more reliable.
