................... spend the Fourth of July ?

What have you guys been doing on this holiday ? Do you spend this day relaxing or do you visit family or interesting sites or maybe you are looking for adventures ...... ?

Are there any traditions connected to this day ?

How did YOU spend the Fourth of July ?

Yep,
The traditional is to enjoy a day of fun with friends and family, usually a BBQ or picnic, then watch fireworks at night reminescent of battles long gone by.

I'll be Bar-B-queing with some of my best friends this afternoon then watching the local fireworks display tonight. A day spent enjoying and embracing freedom.

I wonder what they do in England? πŸ™„πŸ˜›

I'd have to say, based on the opinions of the US that are constantly being expressed throughout the forum, they probably celebrate our independance right along with us, but for different reasons. 😲

Today is the 100th birthday of my town, so we have a bit of added pomp and circumstance. Parades, huge city wide barbeque, live music, fireworks. yay!

Nothing!

4th July is considered to be the same as any other day in England, no bank holiday, nothing.

Burgers, Salads, hotdogs, beer.

Friends, games, fun.

I am soar! We played wiffleball, and some dodgeball! Today I am feeling my age... left arm soar from batting, right arm soar from pitching and humming a dodge ball!

I avoided going to the fireworks... I don't much care for the 2 mile walk, and crowds. I am told the show was great! It gets bigger every year!

The Queen Mary came to Newport! From what I understand it was supposed to go to New York, but couldn't?! Hmmmm.

Anyway, to finish the evening I spilled a beer on my mouse. Now I am trying to work with the other mods and do some 'cleaning'.

Have fun all, regardless where you might be!
