You look over several pleasing variations in your game. Your opponent is a patzer! HAH! You have sooo many ways to win the game! 🙂

Okay, so right before you make your move, you suddenly see a CRUSH! and so you make THAT move instead! 🙂 But before the screen can even change you realize that it's THE STUPIDEST MOVE ON THE BOARD!!!! ARGH! LOSING!!! :'(

I recently had a winning game, a mate in 1 and I missed it!

ummm... *coughs* like... always? nearly once a game. But luckily, on my level of skill, often my opponents won't even realize what a stupid move I've just made. Except, of course, when I manage to hang my queen on the first 5 moves... that never goes unnoticed :'(

It's a truly horrible feeling, especially on a dial-up connection when you have a few seconds to review the board after clicking on MOVE before the page goes.
You realise what you've done, cry "NOOOOOOOOOO!" and start stabbing the STOP button on your browser, knowing it's already too late.

I've got a dial up too . I've learned lunging for the phone cord and nearly ripping the jack out of the wall doesn't work either .

This is why you never resign even when opponent has mate in 1!

Kinda in response to another thread.
