pay per gallon or per liter for gasoline/petrol recently? A friend of mine paid US$2.58 (2.06 Euros) and I paid US$2.98 (2.38 Euros), but I heard some places are much lower and many in Europe are much higher.

Los Angeles is about $3.15 a gallon. I've been told it's much cheaper in Rhode Island.

Now convert to US dollars, spin counterclockwise three times, sprinkle nutmeg on your toes and shout "I believe in fairies".

Locally it was up to A$1.42 per litre, but it's down to A$1.36 per litre at the moment. Those who want to convert, can. I'm just providing the raw data.

You've already accepted US domination by offering a figure in gallons. Why don't you just tell them to join the rest of the planet and accept metric? I would.

Well it's definitely a good time to visit the US from england - 1.85 dollars for a pound = very weak dollar. Not sure how it measures against the euro but I'd think it would be weak too. Think how many more pancakes you can order!

We don't want to learn the metric system. And we never will. I see it in the Olympics and that is enough. Why don't the rest of the nations quit the metric and climb aboard?
