TRAINS IN GERMANY ARE NEVER CANCELLED.
is this true?
are australians incompetent?
are your trains ever late - or cancelled?
Especially in Sydney... 😞
Trains in Cape Town are great. They're always on time, unless there's a strike, or some enterprising individuals have stolen the copper wiring for its black market resale value. This occurs sporadically and without warning. The trains are also completely safe to travel on, unless it's dark. Watch out if you're German--there's always a crowd of people hanging around waiting for one to complain just for the pleasure of telling them to sod off back to Germany. Recently, though, tourist Germans have been prepared for this by their travel agents, and now they greet this abuse with cheery smiles, happy to tick off another item in their list of authentic African experiences.
Trains.. what trains. We only have narrow gauge here on the main trunk lines but they do rumble past every hour or so hauling logs and newsprint to the city.
Oh yes Auckland and Wellington have a train set to get a few of them them to work.
My friend has a miniture steam engine at the beach...much more reliable guaranteed to bring regular smiles.

Trains aren't cancelled often, but they're nearly always late.
Originally posted by flexmoreTrains in Britain are cancelled fairly often and are almost always late. I think trains on the continent are much better.

I live in Manchester. We have a lightweight passenger system called the Metrolink. It's been a bit dodgy recently, but they strive to have one tram every six minutes during the day and every twelve minutes at all other times. They aren't too far off this mark, it will be a hell of a lot better when it stretches to all the corners of Manchester though.
When I lived in Romania, I was astonished how their trains run like
clockwork..
Back in the UK, the trains run like clockwork too.. only the clock's speed is in
direct proportion to Blair's speech pattern, and with every long pause
between sentence and another, there is a long delay between station and
the next..
