Yes, but Scottish is an official language. It's universally recognized.
I seriously doubt that anybody from Aberdeen university will aknowledge that what I wrote was "Scottish".

Proper grammar can be important. But it's not so important if the message, as it is, reaches the receiver without any static.

Language is a method, not a goal.

As an aside, Bukowski never needed punctuation or grammar to write his odes to streakmarks or tales of drunken womanising.

That wasn't Scottish... that was English. It wasn't 'proper' either.

Perhaps you should stick to spelling blunders.

Have you ever watched "The Dukes of Hazzard"?

It sounds perfectly southern to me.

How was y'alls weekend?
I'd really like to know.
If there's something you can't spell,
Bowmann will let you know.

As my good friend from Arkansas is quick to point out, where he comes from, "Y'all" is used to refer to a person or small group of people, as in, "How y'all doin' today?" For a larger group of people, proper Arkansian is "all y'all." So the actual title of this forum should have been, "How was all y'all's weekend?" [If you're university educated, it would be "How were all y'all's weekends?" - but there are only two or three Arkansians who have made it that far in their educational development, so we don't pay much attention to them]

Wouldn't that be 'How was all y'all's Hunting/Fishing Trip this weekend'?

From a former Arkansan...the 'all' is not necessary. Yall is like yall yankees 'you guys', referring to a group of people.

Not likely. None of the above. We're still waiting for the jury to come in on the complete decimation of the English language in the Excited States of Amerika.

(That's where they move the decimal point to the left depending on the consumption of sasparillas by hog-pokers in Arkansas...)

None of you slap-happy idiots have answered my question.

'Chinga' is a word used only by Mexicans. So would it be considered Mexican or Spanish slang? One couldn't possibly say that it is Spanish.

Oh well. So much for appealing to players on both sides of the Atlantic. This poor laddie hasn't been offered a game yet:
