I think I would have been disappointed with the result no matter who won.

I thought you would support whoever was playing against England 🙂

although it was a resounding 7 wicket win in the end the game a lot closer than that.
lets not take anything away from the england team they played very well against a strong side and it was one of the better tests i have seen in a while.

lets hope the rain stays away and we can see more of the same.
first blood to the english and lets hope bond and vaughn are fit for the next game.

ah and i may have to eat humble pie for an earlier post about harmison not being as effective over here compared to his carribean antics. although i thought Jonesy was the pick of the english bowlers particuly in the 2nd innings.

Yes, it was close due to the lack of time for England to build the runs.

not quite, 272 in a days play at about 2.5 to 3 an over is not that unreasonable.

after all, in the previous 4 days 1173 runs had been scored at an average of 293.

the reason it was close is that is extremely difficult batting on a pitch that is five days old let alone scoring on that pitch. time for me was secondary. there was always enough time it was just could they get them without losing thier wickets.

take nothing away from england it was a world class run chase.
