There are a few freeware HTML editors about: google for them.
Personally I use Frontpage, but that's a pay for program. Quite good though, if you don't mind the overly large "created by the will of gates" metatags that end up on all your pages. One can easily remove them, but do I really care? No.
But as it happens, did you know that Word (and no doubt many other wordprocessors etc) can do rather a lot of HTML for you? If you happen to have that (or similar) about, it might be easier to start with an interface you are familiar with, then get to know what the resultant HTML looks like.

It is good enough! I find Word for Windows kinda hard to use for HTML... but that is only cuz FPE is so easy to use.
I also use Cute FTP to upload to my site.
Do you have a space for your clan page yet???
