I'm very glad to hear,
your mind is back between your ears.
But do pay close attention.
It's a game of difficult retention.

Did you lose it or was it took?
It's always in the last place you look.
Fear not when you go crazy,
for that's the very time you're not lazy.

And when your mind it does return,
your thoughts they do twist and churn.
At last calm and sanity abound,
your mind no longer in the lost and found.

Yes I almost lost my mind,
cells and synapses all entwined.
Strange thoughts in my cerebellum,
hard to keep from shouting and yellin'.

The frontal lobe's in backward mode,
speech centre now talks in code.
Soon I'll be goin' insane,
driving fast in the outside lane.

Oh my God I think I'm gonna crash!
Just like a computer, programme's in a mash.
Call a doctor get me an attorney,
goin' crazy lying on this gurney.

Fancy white jacket, sleeves at the back,
keep thinking that I'm under attack.
Wish I was back in my mother's womb.
Very soft wallpaper here in this room.

>been thinking that there's a kind of eerie comfort inside today's internet:

maybe because it's replaced the comfortable neighborhoods of our youth

when life was simple [zero/one/two] and decisions came as easily as sleep;

and we watched our maiden cartoons on ray hill on summer nights until nine

or whenever the first mosquitos and lightning bugs, whichever came first...

carefree days of whimsey and indolence are forever lodged in my forehead.
