Nice one! With all these big guns talking about who's no.1 it's easy to
overlook achievements of us lower rated players, which are just as
improtant.
You can bet I'll let everyone know if I ever reach a landmark like that -
like the 1400 club (in a few years).
Congratulations again (fancy an easy game?)
Freak
Thanks to both of you for the kind words. Reminds me once again
why I continue to think of this as a sort of family.
And a quick, unsolicited testimonial-- anyone who feels like they need
work on their game, whether it be in general or a specific area that's
giving you trouble-- ask Dave is he has room for another pupil. It
helps, it's free, and he's cool.

The Dark Squire
Believe me, I could direct you to some games that would make you
think, "This guy plays drunk!" But I don't-- just suffer from occasional
chess-blindness. If I go on the attack, that's your chance to take
advantage of me, because I frequently forget all about defense when
I'm caught up with trying to pull off some stunning mating
combination. I'll pass on some wisdom I learned from my esteemed
coach-- Play slowly, don't make any impulsive moves, and (my advice,
which I sometimes forget to follow)-- ALWAYS try to figure out what
the purpose of your opponent's last move was-- because if he/she is
a good chess player, EVERY move is made for a reason.
