Alternatively, stick with what you have for a while and save up for something decent. If you're a beginner in the world of amps and guitar purchases, you can't go wrong with fender or marshall, they do some reasonable budget amps which cater to the beginner. Likewise for guitars. Then, when you have the money and have discerned more about what you want from an amp or guitar (I urge you to read reviews, go to shops and spend hours trying out different combinations), you can start to save for your ideal equipment selection.
In the future you may find you need more than one guitar and or amp to get a range of sounds that you enjoy and use for different things.
