Originally posted by CoconutIt was a great ending. Unfortunately for the Eagles, as well as the rest of the NFL, the New England Football Patriots will sweep it all away again this year. Even with all their injuries, there has never been a team that has played under the "team first" concept better than the Pats. No T.O., Randy Moss, Ricky Williams, blah, blah, blah theatrics here, just selfless play.
David Akers, last second making the kick and falling over in agony is about as epic as it gets.
My favorite part was the long snapper kicking off though. The punter can't kick?

I think he also attempted a few desperation place-kicks because of leg strength. I think I've seen teams bring in their punter for a long FG because his leg is stronger. I'd think a punter could at least kick-off and help them in their field position struggles. Guess not in this case.
Thanks Coco. It was a sloppy game, but Akers and McNabb were heroic. Not Andy Reid's finest hour, by any stretch of the imagination. McNabb may have an injury called a sports hernia that will require surgery to repair at some point. All in all, not Andy Reid's finest hour, by any stretch of the imagination. But the Panthers slipped further behind ...[text shortened]... ne is that the Eagles have enough dings in them to wonder how many games they'll win this year.
