Should I memorize names of super unknown indie bands or should it
suffice to say "I dig'd them before they became mainstream" when a
band is mentioned?

Is a hispter an hispanic hipster?

To answer your question: Yes to the former. It helps if you also listen to the bands, not just memorize their names.

You also need to stop wearing ponchos and get yourself some decent clothes and ironic accessories.

Just invent some band names, say they're great and influenced by certain well-known "unknown" indie bands and that everybody should check them out or stick to Justin Timberlake.

Hey, have you heard the latest Dungen album? It's like this Nordic space-pop; very ethereal and dreamy. Totally reminiscent of MBV or old Spacemen 3. It's amazing. I saw them at Lee's in the Summer and No Age opened for them. They totally sucked. Like, I love Weirdo Rippers but the new album sounds like lo-fi Fall Out Boy. Retarded.

I like the ironic keyboard playing in Urethra Shake's new album. It sounds
so Postmodern Alzheimer... before they became mainstream, of course.

Not bad, but a little predictable. Also, you'll have to shave off that mustache and grow a new ironic one...it looks too much like you meant the one you have now.

If it wouldn't be so undeck, I would ironically finger swirl my mustache's end.

I recommend an asymmetric haircut.

Only if it hangs from your forehead.
