What, and just kill the bandwidth on the RHP servers all over again?
Then all the "non-affiliated" members will only be allowed 3 concurrent games.

Hmm....you got a point with that.......but I think that somewhere, maybe with another server a chat-room would be nice.....but....if I think about it....what do we need it for...

But it is a general "forum", not a general "chat room". I think it is great that younger people are playing chess, and if this site and all the wonderful things it has to offer can get kids playing chess then I am 100% behind it.

There are a number of people who are posting on the site whose sole aim is to make more posts than anyone else regardless of quality. We often see posts discussing how great RHP is, how we all love it, how our lives are less when the server is down - why is this? It because the quality the site offers. The forums are part of this site, and a very important one too, if we reduce the quality of the posts we reduce the quality of the forum and in turn the quality of the site as a whole.

There are a lot of people who no longer post on this site, and there may be a lot of reasons for why they left, but maybe they just lost the enjoyment of a quality discussion at a high level on a interesting topic.
I can not stress enough that you do not get involved in every topic, just stick to the longest thread ever for idel chat if you must, you can even have your own thread!

Please respect the enjoyment of others who have been here a long time.

Andrew is right to, and chess is a serious sport, but sometimes it is nice to talk about nothing....just to relax!

Look, you can probably argue both ways.
I only started posting about 2 weeks ago, because it's like you say - some of the stuff was either BS or actually above my head (all this philosophical stuff).
But you'll never stop the chit-chat - especially in the general category.

but doesn't all this "phylsophical" etc. conversation belong in the posers and puzzles forum? and doesn't it go oever a lot of peoples heads? and theus they post stuff that they can understand...

Ja, personally I think all of that stuff should be left for when you're getting high, but hey, that's just me.
There are a few of those in the general forum as well.
I normally enjoy the more lightweight subjects.

Haha, cool words? Don't worry, I had to give my father some money (14,95 Dollar in Euro's) and then he used his Visa (creditcard) to subscribe me!😏

The feeling's mutual Olav, only I'm 24 but I'm still studying - had a job, disliked it, quit - easy as falling out of a tree!
My father totally distrusts the internet, no way he'll let me use his card.
We'll definately play then, hopefully we'll be in the same clan?
