So I have taken vitamin C, Forced fluids, Drank NyQuil in place of a toddy.

Yes it does, temporarily.
My Mom used to rub it on my chest, put a cloth over it at night. Put it under my nose and in a vaporizer.

I read in a email I got that if you rub it on the soles of your feet, it works better, I've done this and it seems to work also. I have yet to confirm this though.

Yeah, pretty much the same here. When I think of it I just remember the pungent mint-like smell, a warm cloth and a sense of sickness everywhere.

Interesting memory.
