if there is any who, in reality, knows the extent of damage done to Thailand; and really CARES outside of cleaning up your own back yard.
This isn't like a flood in a country for which a huge extent is normal, nor a country that has been developing rapidly to meet 1st world standards.
I just wonder how many of you even put it in 0.1% of your daily agenda?
I wonder who has given 1 buck, 5 bucks?
When New Orleans floods happened, oh FK ME......The world had to stop.
Ahum.
Any answers from a heart please???

Not to mention a horrible Tsunami in Japan where that country is still reeling. Earthquakes in Chile and Turkey killing many. Record floods in Australia.
This does not help the misery in Thailand, but a little perspective and disaster-weariness worldwide may mean a certain "apathy."
Katrina's floods were over 6 years ago, very old news, and it certainly pales in comparison.

We're out daily helping, giving. I took some pics today of donations being handed out. Some of my dear friends here will be getting e-mails of them soon.
I know it seems to be big to me, as I am in the midst of it, but it really is a big disaster, and will get worse when the diseases take over.
I apologise for being so self-indulgent. 😳

Talking of Katrina, it was shameful that little was done in the poorer neighbourhoods of New Orleans...years later it was still in ruin, is it still now ?? I can still remember the reaction of both my own and my brothers, at the sights of Atlanta '96 Olympics..enormous money spent on all the 'right things'..I'd never witnessed totally fenced in restaurants, with security on the car park and at the door, yet wandering just off the heavily yellow taped 'tourist areas,' we'd never seen such poverty in a first world nation, trust me I've not exactly stayed still when it comes to travel.
With all due respect to Mike, and he knows I more than merely feel for him on a daily basis, I can see many here have far far more pressing matters on a 'year in year out' basis, closer to their own North American continent.
