Me again, Tony! This question was raised some time ago at
ChessWorld as well, and comprehensively discussed at the Forum. I'm
quite sure the answer is a firm 'No!' Why? In the first place there's
what we can call an 'Internet Language' (which I don't use as I stick
to 'proper' English). What would a spell-chequer think of 'LOL'? To
name just one. Two: What with the many (on purpose? misspelled
words? What with uncommon abbreviations? No, tony, it wouldn't work
as far as I understand this.

Kindets regards

And thirdly, it's spell-cheCKer (not sure whether it's hyphenated or not), a spelling mistake
which a spell-checker wouldn't pick up, since chequer is in the dictionary, meaning a
chessboard-like pattern. Sorry, I couldn't resist, given the subject matter. Or was that the
joke, in which case, LOL!

Thanks Acolyte, i am afraid my spelling is appealing, i spent two
weeks telling people that Schliemann's attics in the forum reminded
me of a cunning stunt .

Tony
sorry there i go again i meant antics not attics

You see what would happen? English is not my native language (Dutch
is). Thanks for the correction anyway. I'll remember. Jan

Also consider that English has different spellings for the same word,
depending on which country you might hail from. An example is that in
the US, you would RECOGNIZE someone; in UK or Australia, you would
RECOGNISE the individual. I apologice...whoops!
