A couple ways to strengthen the sites income would be to
a. ) sell a CD containing the collected games from the site in a
chessbase format. Chess base already sells a corresp cd useful in
finding ideas and examples.
B.) Start have tournements allowing only Pawn stars to enter - would
raise membership and settle the old who's the best player arguments
(at least reduce them)
C.) start a monthly cd collection of games played here with annoted
games - we have some excellent minds here onsite who could help.
D.) find other ways to expand. When money becomes tight a
business has 2 options - downsize - which eventually leads to closure
or expand - with expansion come new areas for profit.
We have some very intelligent folks here and some very vocal ones.
100 minds are much better than 2 any others have any good ideas to
help. I know I will be glad to join once I know the site will be here for
a while. I was going to join this week but the ebay posting made me
hold off.
One last note - Books are an excellent source of chess knowledge but
so are others games. just as history lets us learn from the ideas and
faults of others so can we grow rapidly by studying others games. But
the best I have found is ripping apart my own so I don't repeat my old
mistakes.
Good luck on growing the site

These are some excellent ideas. We would love to expand the site
and very much hope that we get the chance to do so. It is very
unlikely that we would sell the site - I can't see any corporation
wanting to pay the reserve price. Mainly because I can't see that RHP
will ever be a huge money making machine. And we would never want
it to be.
Thanks,
Chris
Why WOULDN'T you want it to be a huge money making maching???
It doesn't mean you have to take away from the quality site you've
invested so much of your time creating! There's nothing wrong w/
making money🙂 People are willing to pay for it and well they should!
You've created a huge vacume in supply vs. demand. You can make
money and solve some problems at the same time! Stop being such
a nice guy.
Also, I have tried contacting you about buying your site and have yet
to hear from you. I am not registered at ebay, nor do I want to be so
I cannot get through to you there. Please send me some information.
thanks,
Franklin
