Bobby Fischer is like the character Dustin Hoffman played in the movie Rain Man-- on crack. He can cross the street by himself but he doesn't know how to function in society. He's a raving lunatic and at times it's amusing, but geez aren't you getting tired of him? His recent pictures show how hideous he's become on the outside to match how he's been on the inside for too long. His little illegal match against Spassky is the perfect excuse to lock him up since nobody will lock him up for the reasons he really should be--he's completely insane and deteriorating. In a few more years most any master will be able to beat him in a match.
Bobby Fischer is still regarded by many to be the greatest Chess Champion of all times. Nobody can take that legacy away from him, even in his later years.
Just look at Aljechin: One of the greatest Chess Champions also, but his private life and views?
