How do you feel Kerry would have changed the situation in Iraq and foreign affairs in general if he was elected based on his campaign promises and the divide of opinion among the people?

Contrary to popular belief, Kerry is not a man of pro war. If you actually studied the history of the man, you would know this. The reason why he simply didn't want to pull out of Iraq, is because, Bush created a violent mess, that needed fixing, and you cannot fix it by simply abandoning the problem created. In other words, Iraq was a big unethical mistake, but now that America is there, America should do it's best to repair the damage and try to make something good from this. Kerry basicly got KILLED this election for a BUSH MISTAKE, that's very unfair, but what can you do, the nation is very uneducated. . .

Kerry voted to give the President something the Framers didn't want any President to have: the power to go to war. They didn't trust George Washington with that power, you think they would have trusted GW with it?? Also you can read Kerry's speech at the time which which was strongly prowar. Everybody knew, including Kerry, that voting to authorize war meant there would be war. His attempt to weasel on this issue was contemptible and assured I wouldn't vote for him.

One good election note: Russ Feingold, who had the balls to cast the ONLY vote against the Patriot Act days after 9-11 and voted AGAINST the authorization of war against Iraq, won re-election easily in Wisconsin while Kerry may lose the state to Bush (he's up by about 10,000 right now). Just goes to show 'ya: people respect someone who takes a stand even if it's unpopular; maybe someday the Democrats will relearn that basic truth.
