"They." Yup. The service provider will sell the data to anyone who will pay, and government intelligence agencies will trawl it for dissident opinions.

I strongly recommend people to boycott Instagram, switch to Signal (available free from Signal.org), and lock it down:

Don’t use Instagram and barely use Facebook anymore as it’s become wall-to-wall ads and also trawls your data.

I use X for laughs, WhatsApp for shares, and RHP debates forum for my news updates 😂

Thanks for the information. I have an Instagram account connected to my business. I maintain a few connections with it, but frankly it doesn't do very much for me.

Thanks for the information. I have an Instagram account connected to my business. I maintain a few connections with it, but frankly it doesn't do very much for me.

the link takes me to a mozilla petition to "tell meta to keep the message encryption the way it is"

they want me to sign my name in the box

aol still sends me those discs that do not work
and tom from myspace is wondering why i never call
i once signed up for an online psych eval
i think they're still listening
but seriously now, the only time i message anyone using insta is that one voodoo witch in new orleans and she says she keeps my locks of hair safe and sound

You don't have to sign the petition. It's just that was where I happened to discover the leak. Insta is not advertizing their intentions. Very suspicious, IMO.
