Installing xp

I have windows vista home basic and would like to install xp. i have already partitioned my hard drive to free up about 35GB in f drive.How do i procced to install xp? Will i have any problems installing xp on my hp laptop that came preloaded with vista?

dude, just stick with Vista. Service Pack 1 is due out any day now and will fix the flaws.

Dual boot - no problemo - I know a few people who have done it.

Some of my games dont run on vista. So do some programs. I'll still have vista as my primary os but would like to have xp as well.

Hey that was an excellent article. Thanks. Only problem is my vista came pre installed in my laptop and i dont have a vista dvd. So how do I reinstate Vista's bootloader?

you'll have to disable Sata Native Support in the bios otherwise i very much doubt it will work

i work in an i.t. dept and found by doing this it allows you to install xp, if not, xp says it doesnt have the drivers for the sata hardrive and so, cant see it to install it on

I don't have Vista myself but I think this free bootloader program would do what you want.
