This is an article about a recent discovery of sounds dolphins give out that seems to be personal names of other dolphins. The piece has examples of sounds the represent names and synthesized versions of the same sound. It seems other dolphins recognise the sounds as belonging to them. The part suprising to me is the syth team didn't seem to do a lot of work to get the sound right. It sounds partially right but its obviously only a truncated version but sitll caught the attention of the target dolphin.
