Whatever happened to good old fashioned minidisc players? You can buy one for a song on Ebay or wherever as they are deemed obsolete. Why though? Okay, you have to record your music in real time but this is a small price to pay when you can have as many discs as you like to stick in that groove slot. This virtually gives you unlimited memory.
I'm sticking with MD's.

I quite enjoy having several thousand songs right at my fingertips.

So do I, but perhaps as I am a hermit, I have overlooked the small issue of portability.

After doing a little more searching I've run across the Toshiba Gigabeat S, which has 30 or 60 gigs, video, and seems like the best alternative to an iPod.

Also the Creative Zen:Vision M looks very nice, my friend has one I think - I'll ask him if I can see it. 😉
