What does anyone know about our top player? He has no profile, and I would love to know what his history is. Iron Man is a good name for the guy. He is mighty powerful.

What else do you need, other than his games? He is playing superbly.

I hear he is a used car salesman in Hoboken, New Jersey. Seriously I think he is from Wales and he sure has a hell of a record.😀

It's not a matter of need. It's just wanting to know something about the number one dog here at RHP. Curiosity is a normal part of the human experience.

Yes, I wonder too. He's certainly a great player.

Care though: Ironman is rated 1173 and is from USA. Ironman31 is our top player, from Wales.

Ironman31 often posts on the "Chess Only" forum, where he shares and analyses games.

He transposes verbs and adverbs in such a way that I doubt he is a native of the UK.

Ultimately, though, it is great that players of his calibre exist on the site, and we should respect their privacy.

I have a clue of who he is but it's better to don't say .

Yes it is, it's to the west of England, the little lump above the 'tail' of the UK.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being curious. I mean, we've only had about 5 people scrape over 2200 as far as im aware. Ironmans gone 70 points clear of that in a couple of weeks! That's incredible if you think that EVERYONE he plays is lower rated. 70 points is just loads when your at the top.

Looking at player table, it seems that Wales is the chessiest place in the world. Or it just has very attractive flag?:-)

Not forgetting that the Netherlands have two players in the top three positions.

In real life though, Russia dominates the FIDE rankings with 13 players in the current top 50. Next best are England and Hungary with just three players each.

It is interesting phenomenon: Germany, for example, has most # of FIDE rated payers, but does not have significant representation on the top. Probably it is just matter of time. Speaking about internet chess: based on GK and RHP stats, it seems that top chess country are USA, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Spain - very different picture compare to FIDE rating list. Internet availability plays certain role of course, but still...
