We're arguing about wussy sports, mate, not about whether being a real man is good or bad!

Are you conceding defeat, then?

No I'm not. I continue to contend that the NFL is not a wussy sport.

Has anyone ever played British Bulldogs? Now that is a true non-wussies game.

Don't get many cases of brain damage in RL either. Maybe us Brits are just "hard-headed" (in more ways than just the physical)

I like NFL. don't get me wrong, but you just can't compare the two games in terms of physicality.

In terms of the title of this thread, American and British sports are probably just as "hard" or "soft" as each other.

If you really want to see "hard" games try the Irish:
Hurling is absolutely brutal!

Half a metre of padding says it is.

How about baseball? Can we agree that's a bit silly?

Used to play it all the time when we were kids, - it's banned in all schools and stuff now though! Used to love it.

We also played a thing called "Chairs" - we'd be in a meeting hall, with two metal chairs back to back in the middle of the room. Everyone would link arms, from the wrist, with a reverse grip on one side.
The idea was that the circle would spin and everyone would try and drag one person over the chairs. If you hit the chairs you were out of the circle.

Eventually on two people were left, and they had to link wrists and try and knock each other off their feet.
Brutal!

I think we need to have a contest, every guy in this thread bragging about man's sports can take a hammer and hit themselves in the head and see who can take the most. Gotta do it or you're a wussie. I'll just sit back here and laugh for a while.

ps: when you break out the rulers I'm outta here.

Hey - since when were these sports just for men? Girls can play Rugby League as well you know.

P.S. - Does a rubber hammer count?

No sillier than cricket. What's this keeping the arm straight stuff for?

So if you feel the NFL is soft would you be willing to put on the padding and jump in the air to catch a high throw and have someone well over 100kg who's only job is to make sure you don't come down with the ball hit you?

I'm not sure I have the muscles to lug around the padding.

So you won't even meet me halfway with Baseball??

Apparently the padding isn't as heavy as you would think.

The only silly thing in Baseball is the designated hitter rule. And the chewing tobacco. And going through so many baseballs.

Afraid to say Basketball is one of the few sports I just can't enjoy watching.
I'll watch pretty much anything else though.
