Is there another politician that could have steered the USA through the tough times its been in in the past 2 1/2 years any better then dubya?
His economic policy has reduced the tax burden on all segments of society and yet tax receipts were up in 2003 over 2002 due to greater spending due in large part to his tax cuts. Gee that silly Laffer curve it just keeps coming back and stinging socialists don't it.
His foreign policy has been inspired. The administrations understanding of the TRUE state of the world and the NECESSARY actions needed despite the protests of the people with their heads in the sand has been impressive.
His homeland security policy has been instrumental in preventing another terrorist attack on US soil. Who would have guessed that two and a half years after 9/11 we would not have had another tragedy in the USA.
If Gore were President I would hate to think of what our situation would be now.
Go Dubya.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but were Bush's trillion dollar tax cuts not inacted midway through 2001? So you are comparing two years with the same taxation policy and saying that 2003, in which the US economy performed merely poorly, produced higher tax receipts than 2002, in which it performed appallingly. And you don't say whether you factored in inflation? Now I may only be a silly old socialist, but that doesn't sound like the soundest of economic arguments to me.
Rich.

His "Homeland Security Policy" is a joke.
Economic policy has no meaning for the executive branch. Study the constitution. Not a single cent of money can be collected by that branch of government, and only that which congress gives it can be spent. Duh! Geez! Doesn't anyone read any more?
Any time you increase CAPITALISM you increase the revenue of the government. Greed begat greed. To go to old testament terminology.
And it was good.
The only argument I have with this post is that you let Bush off. He is pandering. Why apologize for success?

Why aren't I a part any segment of our society? It sure would have been nice to see one of those tax cuts.....

Interesting....I think my wife and I count as those who pay taxes....again, just wish we could see our tax cuts......

That is when all this silliness kicks in. Hence my frustration with Bush. But better late than never. Perception is mightier than reality. Ain't that sad?
