Too violent - no.
Although it was an accident that you said the title, it made me come here so I wnat you to have my opinion 😉
Jesus was tortured to an extent that none of us will ever understand. Read through the Gospels.

I don't accept the gospels as aboslute truths of any kind...
Difference is Asher, many on this site do.
Perhaps you can get us a flash site making fun of Lady Diana's car crash. Mandela in prison would also be funny. While you're at it, the spanish bomb blasts were also pretty humerous. But then 09/11 is also still a good laugh huh ?
Many Christians died by the hands of Nero in the most exquisitely VILE ways imaginable. It is an accepted historic fact.
You are cheapening their deaths.

Although I sympathise that this might be a subject close to you, I think you may be being oversensitive.

First off, the clip parodies the film not the death of Jesus. The fact that the film was about the death of Jesus is almost secondary.
Secondly, almost all humour is rooted in laughing at someone or some group. Think of as many jokes as you like, most will pick on someone or other - at least the funny ones do anyway.
Thirdly, we get humour about all sorts of awful things; it helps us cope with life. You'll find that people with the most stressfull jobs such as soldiers and doctors tend to have the darkest sense of humour. For every joke there will be someone who will find it distasetful - I remember being insulted by a TV sitcom where a man burried his car when it 'died' because it was my grandfathers funeral in the same week and I didn't like them trivialising it. At the same time I'm watched parodies of WW1 and laughed my socks off, despite it being one of humanities worst hours.
