Players who never move when they are about to lose, yet move every 15 seconds when they are in a commanding position!! Im currently playing dustnrogers in a clan game whos ranked nicely on about 1720, where as Im still learning the trade back on 1200 ish.
However just recently Dustn made a mistake, and now he is unmistakenly mate in 1. Its now been 5 days since he last moved, yet he was quite content to move in our other game where he was ahead of me quite convincingly.
This in my opinion by far the most fustrating and poor example of sportsmanship that you can encounter on this site. I even lost my nerve and sent the idiot an abusive message which I now regret. But still, there is nothing more annoying in the world of chess.
Game 540839 Yep, gone for all money. Thirty-two rating points in the bag. Kiwi's rule.😉

Maybe you need to look at this differently, if you have mate in one.
Encourage him to take as much time as possible instead of trying to rush his final move.
You say he is rated quite a bit higher than you, so maybe while waiting for your win against him, he will win other games and increase his rating, which will give you even more points when he finally gets around to making that final move and losing in your game.

Originally posted by mwmillerYeah, but dustn is prone to just disappearing and letting all his games time out, then suddenly you find that a win is not worth much (not that i've come close to beating him).

i agree totally with the initial post in this thread. someone's doing it to me - no names - i've got 2 passed pawns close to the finish line and there's nothing he can do about it. so recently, he's slowed right down...
Collecting a timeout win is not nearly as satisfying as winning on merit, or having the opposite player concede that for this game he was outplayed. I mean no amount of staring at that board is going to make his position any better. There is nothing he can do whatsoever apart from lose. Its just sad when we have people to do it in the most annoying fashion
Ta skeeter for flicking up the game id.
