It doesn't work that way. You can't change other people. You can only change yourself. Maturity takes people as they are. Immaturity keeps

on trying to change them to fit its own expectations and replicate itself... and then, when finally realizing it cannot, attempts to destroy them.

You are correct.. you can't change other people. But you can influence them by setting an example and you can inspire them to change themselves. Ask any teacher.
