I was at the gas station and a young man come in behind me keeping the distance and wearing a mask. I told him to have a nice day. He said and you too 'Sir'!!
I must be starting to show my age. All of a sudden I went from 'buddy' to 'Sir'! 🙁

Was it sudden...? 🙂
The reason I ask is, I have noticed that I get a little more respect from young people and sometimes even middle-age that I haven't noticed before. It happens they offer me their seat on the bus and show in small gestures that they are willing to help. I think it's wonderful!

Actually the second time this year a young man...meaning most likely late teens early 20's has called me 'Sir', meaning he sees me as old, or they both have a lot of respect for older people. At that age someone 40 would be considered OLD! 😉

Nice that you are enjoying the small gestures people are showing you.

Yeah, the first time I was called "ma'am" by a college student, it irritated me more than it should have. Granted, he was a freshman, so was probably all of 17 or so, but still.

Relax and enjoy it. Think of all the discounts.

Geeze and you're only in your early 40's work out regularly so you can't be looking that old. As you said to a 17 year old, I'd probably look antique. 😉

Or even to a 71-year-old.

i got carded by a brightsmileysweet thing

the guy in line behind me was panting, "card me! card me!"

she not only made my day, she made my decade
