Over here in New Hampshire, it's hailing violently. It started suddenly, and even as I'm writing this, it's subsiding. Crazy weather here. Just a few days ago it was unbearably hot.

Now it's just rain and a thunderstorm.

Has your iceberg not melted yet? Sounds like bad times for walri on icebergs...

We have had nice summer weather this week, with temperatures up to 24C (75F) or so, but it's supposed to get cooler and wetter again (better for walri). But we probably won't get hail or thunderstorms. Thunderstorms are extremely rare here (we usually get some mild ones during winter, but often none at all during summer). I miss them a bit.

Well, I took to my igloo for shelter against the hail, and I'm just venturing back out. But I expect my iceberg to be fine. It's quite large, and lasts almost the whole summer before melting. At that point, I must find another, and build an igloo on it.

Sounds like you are having a better summer time than England.

We were for some days... Now we have 10C (50F) and light drizzle, which is pretty normal weather for June. People who like hot and dry summers won't be happy here. I don't tolerate heat very well, so I am quite content, even though I sometimes wish it were a *bit* warmer and dryer. But you can't have everything.

We've had 4 days of sunshine last week. Apart from that it's been wet, cold and miserable. It's set to be a warm one today though. The climate is definately changing. We used to have quite hot summers, a good few weeks of sunshine guaranteed. Then we would have a cold, bitter winter. Over the last ten years though, we have tended to get a couple of weeks of sunshine in March April then a wet miserable May June and July, then some sort of Indian summer in August/September. The winters are now very mild and it doesn't get below zero often. The seasons are going all over the place. I blame Terry Wogan.

We're also having crazy weather in Michigan. It was hot and muggy for a week, but the last 4-5 days have been very cold. Get's down in the 40's at night. I remember when, at this time of year, it would be in the 80's at night.
