Being relatively new to RHP, or C@W as I know it, I have received few unsolicited challenges. Just know I received an email notifying me that my latest challenger had moved and when I logged on I noticed an Alert icon flashing. I have not encountered that previously and was a bit puzzled when it dawned on me that an allegedly brand new n00b, both to chess and RHP, was my challenger and he had set the timer to 1 day/0 timebank. When I looked at his profile I noticed that of his 7 completed games, 5 were decided by timeouts.
Have I been snookered?
Of course, I will have to be move careful in the future about accepting blind challenges (I prefer 3 day/ 0 timebank), however, I am going on vacation Saturday morning.

Don't worry if the timeout has passed and timebank has decreased to 0 if not multiple moves have been made. Win claiming is not possible, only deleting the game. If you do not make a move, you cannot lose a game for whatever reason (this makes me wonder though if anyone playing as white can resign on the very first move so you can win without moving. I think it can).
I think problems like this could be avoided if every newbie(which I'm sure its in the hundreds by the day) after joining abruptly read the FAQ instead of delving straight into the chess. However, trying to get this to happen is futile. We shall answer these questions daily for the next few years.ðŸ˜

Edit: And if you can't, I shall be very angry.

What's a timebank?
Why's my rating being screwy?
How do I move?
How do I subscribe?
How do I get into tournaments?
What's up with the clans?
How do I start a game?
I need my insulin.
I missed Oprah.
Shut up allready!
Many people will read this and write off my anger.

And it's your own fault; some people prefer those time settings and if you go over thats tough.....you should read the rules instead of whingeing at so called n00bs.
haha, was it me?
Originally posted by Dr StrangeloveI am not pissed and truly doubt I will lose the game. I am irratated that I accepted his challenge without looking at the time ratings, however, I am also concerned that the person is not a 13 year old new to chess but a ringer trying to accumulate wins by suckering others with a blind challenge.

BTW, a 13 year old that proclaims to be both new to chess and to RHP is a n00b. I am still a n00b to someone that has made more than a few thousand moves.

1. Though shalt not whinge.
Definitions:
verb:-to whinge:
complain peevishly: to complain annoyingly or continuously about something relatively unimportant.
i used to play weichi (go) on Yahoo ... i noticed this one guy had a really high rating on the logged-in player tables ... when he finally challenged me, i accepted .... the timebank was set to some really low number, like 1 minute, and he, having challenged probably everyone he could find in this manner, played his moves very quickly and i couldn't keep up and timed out ... and when i challenged him to a rematch, he refused 🙂 ...
