Lately I've been noticing a spike in people challenging me on here. It seems like it coincides with me hitting a 1500 rating. I was wondering did something else change that makes me more visible? Is it really my ranking? Where are people finding the link to challenge me? I don't really mind, it's just weird having it happen all of a sudden after years of being on here.

Thoughts?

I've had this happen several times when I've had an increased forum presence. When I had a thread started about me in "Chess" I received a flood of challenges for a while. Could this be the reason? I certainly think more people want to challenge you the higher your rating, but I don't think there's a magic threshold.

Ahem... LMAO! Thanks for all the responses!!

1) I've updated my avatar - now I'm probably half as cute as Palynka!
2) I think the challenges have to do with me being signed in and someone seeing me and challenging me. Or because I've got a parrot - one of the two, and
3) Yes, it does, in fact, hurt, this spike in challenges. I've having it removed next week, along with that pesky queenside castle boil that I'm having lanced.
