I've seen beauty...

I've seen beauty in my lifetime... seen winsome children so intent and serious in their play... seen timely resolution of impossible positions

in chess games... seen early buds on bare tree limbs holding cruel promise of another spring... seen my dear wife walking across the room.

I'm dreaming of tree buds. Alas, I must wait until May. Oh how Minnesota winters drag on.

Other buds remind me of my adolescence.

Your 'brown eyed gal' avatar is also quite nicely done.

there's a beauty in the river
there's a beauty in the stream
there's a beauty in the forest at night
when the lonely nightbird screams
and there's so much time for singin'
and so much time for words
there's so much time to listen
and so much time to be heard

there's a brighter day round the corner
there's a crown behind the hill
there's a city of light on that foggy mountain top
where the wind is never still
and there's so much time for livin'
and so much time to die
there's so much time for laughin'
and so much time to cry

we must all stand in the water
we must find it when we roam
it don't matter what is said
we can wake up from the dead
and roll away the stone
we can roll away the stone
(MANDOLIN DITTY)

there's a truth in the eyes of my woman
that no mortal ever knew
she lights my way like the coming of the day
when the sun shines on the dew
and there's so much time for singin'
and so much time for words
there's so much time to listen
and so much time to be heard

we must all stand in the water
we must find it when we roam
it don't matter what is said
we can wake up from the dead
and roll away the stone
we can roll away the stone (hallelujah)

we must all stand in the water
we must find it when we roam
it don't matter what is said
we can wake up from the dead
and roll away the stone
we can roll away the stone (oh lord)

we must all stand in the water
we must find it when we roam
it don't matter what is said
we can wake up from the dead
and roll away the stone
we can roll away the stone

I've alerted your post for I am insulted by incredible amounts of LAME.

Glittery fabric, used to be popular for party dresses in the 1950s.

I like this post. Wicked on the senses, but I fail to see the cruelty in the
promise of another spring. I would be much interested in the thought
behind that. Am I reading it wrong (stupid me), or is it an interesting
conflict in the wake of your love for winter vs its humiliating defeat to dawn
of summertime?
