School provides one with all the really useful phrases. I'd be lost on visits to France without my trusty: "Dans ma chambre il ya un lit, une chaise, une table, une lampe et quelques livres"

Edit: There is a superb Eddie Izzard routine where he talks about getting around France armed only with the words "Mon singe est dans l'arbre" [My Monkey is in the tree]

Almost the only thing I can say in Russian is "This is not the moon, it's my auntie". I wonder how helpful that would be if I were to go to Russia.
